Cambodian Beef Recipe

1. Heat oil in a deep-sided pan or wok.
2. Add onion, garlic, shallots and brown sugar and sauté gently until just starting to brown.
3. Add Saucy Spice’s Cambodian Beef spice blend sachet stirring until fragrant – about 30 seconds.
4. Add diced beef, soy sauce, fish sauce and beef stock then bring the pan to a boil.
5. Once at a boil, reduce the heat and cook gently on low heat with no lid for 1 hour – 1.5 hours until the meat is tender.
6. Stir occasionally to avoid sticking, the shallots will break down to thicken the sauce.
7. Remove star anise and serve with plain boiled rice and chunks of fresh French baguette.
